VISUAL PERCEPTION SCIENCE
DONALD L. KING

RATIONALE
Dr. King’s blog posts are attempts to introduce new ideas about visual perception. The appearance of these ideas on the web makes them widely available. The posts consist of complete manuscripts and briefer notes. To help in the evaluation of these ideas, comments on each post can be made.
AN ILLUSTRATIVE IDEA
Traditionally the effect of binocular disparity on perceived three-dimensional (3D) distance is explained geometrically. Nevertheless, dichoptic images may be attracted toward each other while remaining on their individual lines of sight. Then the perceived 3D distance as well as the angular direction to the ensuing diplopic objects would change. The above figure helps to explain this idea.

ABOUT THE POSTS
The titles of recent posts are below under the “RECENT POSTS” heading. Clicking on ARCHIVE reveals the titles of all of the posts.
For each post, the title of the post in red occurs, then the date of the post’s written completion occurs, and then “Comment” in red occurs. For each post, clicking on its title in red makes the entire post available starting at its beginning. Each post has an Abstract.
Each post is a HTML file. Thus, each post can be searched for an item using Ctrl f.
COMMENTS
For each post, a comment can be made by clicking on the “Comment” in red that appears after the post’s title and date. This click makes the entire post available starting at its end where a space appears to make a comment.
